Dosage

Two billion colony forming units (CFUs) per day is considered to be the minimum amount for the healthy maintenance of intestinal microflora. Please note that there is no maximum limit or “harmful level” to probiotics.

Cupful or “shot” ?

Kefir, has been traditionally enjoyed chilled, as a long refreshing drink.

A cupful of Babushkas contains 50 billion CFUs when bottled. When stored at the correct temperature conditions these numbers are maintained for the duration of the products shelf life.

The suggested dosage after an antibiotic treatment or simply needing a boost is one to two cups a day.

Similarly, a cupful is suggested for the occasional user, or when enjoying kefir with your cereals for breakfast.

A shot, quarter cup (62ml) daily, containing 12 billion CFUs should be part of your long term digestive maintenance plan and as tonic for your immune system. In time, you will become aware that you will not catch the first cold, that you will be more regular have less digestive discomfort, enjoy more energy and vitality. The longer term health benefits will be the bonus.

It is official, organic really is better!

The biggest study into organic food has found that it is more nutritious than ordinary produce. Researches grew fruit and vegetables and reared cattle on adjacent organic and non organic sites on a 725 acre farm attached to New Castle University and at other sites in Europe. They found the levels of antioxidants in milk from organic herds were up to 90% higher than the milk from conventional herds.

Honey a natural Prebiotic.

Honey contains a variety of oligosaccharides making it an effective colonic prebiotic. It is well recognized that various oligosaccharides, when added to a probiotic-containing food like yogurt, significantly enhance the growth and viability of the cultures. In other words, the prebiotics act as a "fertilizer" to these beneficial bacteria. Our milk and honey product contains two proven prebiotics, Inulin and honey both assisting to maximise the viability of the probiotics
